The price of a domain name passes 6.99

06-30-2010, 04:26 PM

With domain names, the price that OVH uses depends on purchase price and, in some cases, the price of the dollar. This cost, therefore, changes every day. Nevertheless, we attempt to establish a stable price that does not change just everyday and promotions that are limited to one month each time.

Recently, the euro is lower against the dollar. And we also have a novelty to manage: the price of .com is still rising. It's the second or third time the price moves. Since then, we have not passed on these increases, because we try to make an average on all extensions. This time we must revise our prices because at €5.99 we sell at a loss ...

Keeping the same philosophy we will bring the price of .com .net .org .info .biz .fr .be from €5.99 to €6.99. The goal is to have a business logic but also to try to create benefits for resellers (between €6.99 and ... €5.99). In one way or the other, €1 not nig but for those who manage many domain names it can make interesting differences.

Prices will therefore change. Contractually speaking, OVH will meet the one month notice. Done. From August 1, prices will rise to the renewal €6.99 for 8 extensions - .com .net .org .info .biz .fr .be .eu with with promotion for the creation and transfer. And a renewal price for resellers who depend on volume of domain names at OVH which will be communicated in a few days.

That is until August 1st you can renew your domain names for €5.99. After the date, the price will €6.99 or if you have many domain names, it will be €5.99 (depending on the number of domain names).

All the best,
