They are all working now, good job fixing it quickly.

I just tried them all and they seem to be working fine....

Are you still having this problem?

On firefox the reinstall/change os button shows a blank page.
Blank page also shown on the following icons:
IP LoadBalancing
IP FailOver
USB Flash Disks 8-16 GB
Additional 500 GB USB disks

MRTG graphs do not work and show this error:
"MRTG data are not available (server said: Undefined switchPort,

Apparently this problem is localised to ovh.ie - the problem doesn't
occur when I sign in from ovh.com.

I second this, though it appears to simply fail using Safari on OS X
10.5.7 (tries to download the .pl on Firefox Ubuntu 9.04).

They dont appear to have been assigned any Irish IP addresses, but they
do have for other countries.

Sure they do, at least they do in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. You
get a local IP if you request one, but you lose your normal failover IP
as a result. After all, v4 IP's cost money,

See http://www.ovh.ie/items/ip_failover.xml

It's just that currently the IP failover request button isn't working
on the Irish OVH Manager ...

Do they really give out irish IP addresses?
All OVH servers are in France, they only have offices in other
countries.

I was just logging in to correct myself. I found the appropriate
kernels at ftp://ftp.ovh.net/made-in-ovh/bzImage/.

1. How come the IPv4 kernel is default rather than IPv6?

2. How come IP failover changes is faulting with error in the OVH
manager? How else do we set an Irish IP address?

3. Can you extend the time period before this forum logs you off? It's
way too short ATM.

Thanks,
Niall

2.6.27.10-grsec-xxxx-grs-ipv6-32

it's in your manager, netboot options.

Just tried adding my IPv6 address:

root@ks361001:~# ifconfig eth0 inet6 add 2001:41d0:1:e74a::1
No support for INET6 on this system.

Is there an ipv6 capable alternative of the
2.6.27.10-grsec-xxxx-grs-ipv4-32 kernel?

And BTW https://www.ovh.ie/managerv3/beta/de...ces-install.pl
is failing with an error so I can't test changing my OS installation

So far my impressions are good. I have a 1.2Ghz Celeron D 220 here at
home and I'd hardly call it fast, yet your Kimsufi L server does apt-get
installs considerably faster than my VAServ based Xen VPS running on a
quad core 2.4Ghz Core2 processor.

A lot of people here (actually a lot of people on WHT too) are probably
unaware that OVH have an extensive help section and you'd do well to
consult it before posting here. I'd suggest a sticky post above saying
"Check http://help.ovh.ie before posting here!"

I got two issues:

1. The allocated IP is pointing to France:

C:\Documents and Settings\ned>tracert 91.121.166.74

Tracing route to ks361001.kimsufi.com [91.121.166.74]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 2 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 47 ms 47 ms 45 ms lns3.net.imagine.ie [87.232.0.26]
3 47 ms 45 ms 45 ms ve5.core.net.imagine.ie [87.232.0.129]

[91.121.130.153]
16 70 ms 69 ms 69 ms ks361001.kimsufi.com [91.121.166.74]

Trace complete.

30ms from leaving my ISP Imagine.ie to OVH is not excellent but it's
not bad either.

Obviously all of us here would much prefer an Irish IP for Google SEO
and stuff. I tried adding a failover IP in the Manager but I get:

Connection closed by server to
https://www.ovh.ie/managerv3/beta/de...ces-extraip.pl

A fair few other options here have an identical failure e.g.

https://www.ovh.ie/managerv3/beta/de...s-flashdisk.pl

... and so on.

2. I see you got IPv6 set up and working - congrats on that as everyone
should do this but so few bother.

I read your section on http://help.ovh.ie/Ipv4Ipv6 but I am slightly
confused by the fairly literal translation into English:

Are you basically saying that people can choose any and all of the IPv6
addresses between 2001:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx::1 and
2001:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:FF:FF:FF:FF? So basically I could allocate myself
2001:xxxx:xxx:xxxx::1 for the HTTP server, 2001:xxxx:xxx:xxxx::678 for a
client's VPS, 2001:xxxx:xxx:xxxx::9999 for inter-server comms and so
on.

However I take it I must NOT use the address 2001:xxxx:xxx:xxxx::0 as
obviously a zero end is an invalid IPv6 address. You might want to
clarify that in the OVH manager e.g. specify the IPv6 address as
2001:xxxx:xxx:xxxx:* instead.

Thanks,
Niall
